Organization Information

Name: Willamette Academy
Description: Willamette Academy is a 5 year, supplemental college preparatory program for middle and high school students in the Salem-Keizer school district. Students are nominated in 7th grade based on income, family history, background, interview and teacher recommendations. These students are first generation, and from historically underrepresented groups in higher education. The Academy’s mission is to provide them with the resources to set them on the path to college, and to accomplish their academic and personal goals. In their 5 years at the Academy, students receive assistance through tutoring, workshops, mentor meetings, college-track sessions, and support from the WU community.
