Description:
Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) is looking for volunteers willing to promote awareness of Planned Parenthood’s services in Salem, OR and surrounding communities at various community events.
Hours: On-call as needed. Most events occur on the weekends, but may also occur Monday-Friday and evenings.
Essential Functions:
Assist with dispensing brochures, referral cards, and posters in Salem and surrounding areas
Represent PPCW at community outreach events
Set up and break down of Planned Parenthood booth
Participate and assist with Awareness Campaign activities, such as Pride, Breast Cancer Awareness, and GYT (Get Yourself Tested)
Talk with the public about PPCW services and reproductive/sexual health topics
Communicate regularly with Volunteer Supervisor and staff about availability and participation at events
Provide written feedback after event attendance
Report any suspicious behavior or signs of abuse to Volunteer or Site Supervisor
Maintain strict confidentiality of all agency and constituent information
Comply with PPCW’s Code of Conduct and maintain the highest level of professional and ethical standards and act in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Attend volunteer training sessions
Flexibility to take on other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age and have reliable transportation
Must participate in phone or in-person interview with Volunteer Resources Coordinator
Must have a strong desire to work for Planned Parenthood's mission, values, and services
Ability to provide non-judgmental and compassionate care and information
Excellent verbal communication skills with people of diverse backgrounds
Must be outgoing and energetic when promoting events
Must be available some weekends and evenings
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must be punctual and dress professionally
Must complete the following at Orientation:

Blogging and Online Communications Policy
Pass a background check screening
Complete Suspicious Encounters and Mandatory Reporting trainings
