The Shadow Project is a nonprofit that provides schools with programs proven to help K-8 students with dyslexia, ADHD and autism build skills for school and life success.
We partner with teachers via our Reading Mentor program, as well as other programs.
Reading Mentor - Virtual or In-person - Salem-Keizer School District
Our Reading Mentor program pairs volunteer mentors with discouraged readers to set goals and celebrate progress. This program also equips schools with assistive reading technology designed for children who do not learn to read the traditional way. The results: improved reading proficiency, deeper connection to school, and kids bursting with confidence.
During the program cycle, reading mentors meet with kids once a week, for about two hours.
